Awfer: A Bilingual Coupon & Promotions App
Awfer (أوفر) connects vendors and shoppers. Vendors create and manage promotions; customers browse deals and book them. Whetstonez designed and built the iOS and Android apps, the website and the dashboard, in full Arabic and English.
The challenge
A promotions marketplace has to serve two audiences at once: vendors who need a simple way to publish and manage offers, and customers who want to find a good deal quickly. In Saudi Arabia it also has to work equally well in Arabic and English.
Our solution
We built one platform with two sides. Vendors create promotions and manage them; customers browse deals and book them in the app, which generates the booking and invoice. The whole experience switches cleanly between right-to-left Arabic and left-to-right English.
Vendor promotions
Vendors publish offers, set the discount and manage their active promotions.
Deal discovery
Customers browse current deals and book the ones they want.
Bookings & invoices
Each booking produces an invoice, with VAT shown on top of the vendor's base price.
Payments
Integrated online payments through HyperPay, including Apple Pay.
Arabic and English
Full RTL and LTR layouts, not a translated afterthought.
Cross-platform
One React Native codebase for iPhone and Android, backed by Node.js on AWS.
